When you refresh your Web App, you will see a message window on the lower right that gives you the option to restore the Web Application to its previous state.
This message window appears for a few seconds and then goes away.
When clicked, it restores your previous map extent.
If you had turned certain Layers on or off, they are remembered.
Why would you want to refresh your Web App?
Sometimes, it is necessary to refresh your Web App if it becomes unresponsive or you want to kill a query operation that may be stalling the application.
Perhaps you have turned off your device and ready to continue your work the next day. Having the option to start where you had left off is a big time saver.
